Description

Ever wondered how your computer is able to find files so quickly? Probably not, but imagine if they took as long to find a digital file as we sometimes take to find a paper one.

Computers store a lot of information. How do they find that information again? How is a web site able to quickly sort a huge list of items by price? In this webinar explore both plugged in and unplugged activities to support understanding how computers sort and search files. Searching and sorting are mentioned in progress outcome 4 but the activities shown in this webinar support younger students also.

This virtual meetup is aligned to the Ministry of Education’s digital technologies implementation support tool and starts at 'now underway'. It supports you to unpack the detail, get organised for change, through being '2020 ready', to 'leading and innovating', by supporting you to feel confident with an Ako style of teaching and learning.
