Description

Whether you are an absolute beginner or someone who has dabbled with programming and coding. Our focus is on having fun while integrating Digital Technologies into your classroom programme.

Join Amy Souquet and explore how to integrate digital technologies and computational thinking into curriculum areas and gain an understanding of the fundamentals of programming using age appropriate programming languages.

These sessions run weekly on Tuesdays from 4.00pm to 5.30pm.

  • Session 1: Tuesday 17 November
  • Session 2: Tuesday 24 November
  • Session 3: Tuesday 1 December
  • Session 4: Tuesday 8 December

During these sessions you will be supported to create a Scratch project based around Digital Storytelling. Digital storytelling is a powerful tool to retell your favourite stories and even share some of our most treasured memories. Through this project you will create an interactive story using simple code and develop a process that can be used and integrated in the classroom.

This meetup will be delivered in English however the content will be really beneficial to kura Māori also. We invite all Māori Medium kaiako to attend as the skills and knowledge covered in these sessions are relevant to Māori Medium contexts.
