Technology Update - Raranga Matihiko TV Series goes live on the 28th of May 2020
The Raranga Matihiko / Weaving Digital Futures programme is part of the Ministry of Education’s Digital Technologies for All Equity fund. This programme is delivered by four New Zealand museums, being led by Te Papa.
Following business continuity planning for operating under COVID-19, this programme pivoted from in-person to digital delivery. The delivery model has been redeveloped to include online webinars and bespoke content tailored to the participating schools and kura. Further, technology resources for the Learning from Home website and programme content for the Home Learning | Papa Kāinga TV are being rolled out.
On Thursday the 28th of May, the Home Learning | Papa Kāinga TV will begin broadcasting the series of 16 Episodes (8 Junior and 8 Senior) developed by the Raranga Matihiko team. Each episode commences with an introduction of the overarching theme of kaitiakitanga and taonga before moving into each episode’s topic. The first episode is Wakahuia and features MTG Hawke’s Bay.
